Oh I am a creature of night, I’m at home in the dark
And you surely dont want to meet me all alone in the park
You don’t want to see me on weekends, or even week nights, oh-no now
Cause meeting me is an experience, baby, that bites
And I can’t stand the sunshine, no-oh
I cant stand the sunshine, no-whoah
I cant stand the sunshine, no no no
I crumble to dust, yeah
This is a most lovely party, I wish I could stay
But I really have to get home before the break of day
Please put away all of your mirrors, they just bring me down
But if you Leave your window open maybe I’ll come back around
And I can’t stand the sunshine, no-oh
I cant stand the sunshine, no-whoah
I cant stand the sunshine, no no no
I crumble to dust, yeah
I’m not alive, i am undead, im just ahead of mornings light
I will survivie if I can make it to my casket, it’s alright
Can’t stand sunshine, baby, NO! it burns!
Can’t stand the sunshine, baby, so
I turn away from the sunshine, whoa-oh
I cant stand the sunshine, no-whoah
I cant stand the sunshine, no no no
I crumble to dust, yeah
I always loved the song “Walking on Sunshine”. It’s such an energetic piece of music, and it can’t help but make me happy. At the same time, I had gotten rather tired of angsty vampire literature and songs about same, and decided to write some cheerful songs about vampires. This one seemed a natural, somehow.
