In the interest of getting back to regularly journaling, here’s a silly meme I got from the_magician.
1) Do you like blue cheese?
It isn’t my favourite cheese, but I like it just fine.
2) Have you ever smoked heroin?
Um, I admit that I’ve never done heroin, but I also wasn’t under the impression that it was something you “smoked”.
3) Do you own guns?
I do not presently, though I have in the past.
4) What flavor do you add to your drink at sonic?
I don’t. I just go for the straight Limeade.
5) Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?
Not usually. I suppose it depends on what I’m there for. (And that reminds me, I need to make one.)
6) What do you think of hot dogs?
Good ones can be quite tasty, though I much prefer a polish or smoked sausage in a bun. They tend to have more texture, and usually more flavour. My favourite thing to do with hot dogs is slice them lengthwise, not all the way through, and put some bits of cheddar or pepper-jack cheese in, then wrap them in a croissant and bake them for about 10-15 minutes. Yum.
7) Favorite Christmas song?
“Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues and Kirsty McColl.
8) What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
Today, I had a glass of peach juice. Usually, it’s a glass of Pespi One, though.
9) Can you do push ups?
Yes, but I don’t.
10) Can you do a chin up?
*A* chin-up? Quite possibly. Don’t hold your breath waiting, though.
11) What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
My wedding ring, which, along with kitanzi‘s, was a gift from maedbh7
12) Favorite hobby?
Making music.
13) Ever been in a car wreck?
I’ve been in more than one, though thankfully none of them were more than minor fender-benders. The most traumatic of them was the time I skidded on a wet pavement and rear-ended an SUV at a stoplight….a week before the first payment on my car was due.
14) Do you have A.D.D.?
It looks that way sometimes, but I think I’m just easily distracted.
15) What’s one trait that you hate about yourself?
I can be terribly forgetful and scatterbrained.
16) Middle name?
Taylor.
17) Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment?
Looking over email from late yesterday and overnight to see if there’s anything i need to take action on
Chatting with susanscookietin on IM.
Filling out this silly questionnaire.
18) Name 3 things you bought yesterday?
Breakfast.
Lunch.
… that’s it, actually.
19) Name 3 drinks you regularly drink?
Pepsi One.
Water.
Tea.
20) Current worry?
Don’t have any overwhelming ones just his moment, as the one that was overwhelming me was cleared up. I have a few minor ones, and I’m sure, me being me, that I’ll fix on something new to worry about soon.
21) Current hate right now?
Life’s too short not to love everybody, and life’s too long to hate. (Thanks, Todd Snider!)
23) How did you bring in the New Year?
Quietly, alas. Our tradition had been been to celebrate with bedlamhouse and ladyat, but they’ve moved to Indiana and that was the end of that annual party. If we had a bigger house, we might have tried to pick up and continue their tradition, but we don’t, so we haven’t.
24) Where would you like to go?
To where my long-distance sweeties are. (This doesn’t make for an *exceptionally* short list, I admit…)
25) Name three people who will complete this?
Heaven knows. Whoever is bored and looking for journal fodder, I imagine. That’s why I’m doing it.
26) Do you own slippers?
I do, though I rarely wear them. They’re giant purple knitted boots, made by a friend of telynor‘s, and gifted to me because they turned out much bigger than expected.
27) What shirt are you wearing?
I’m wearing a Chambanacon 35 t-shirt that once belonged to Dave Alway, and was given to me by peteralway. I like wearing it, as it reminds me fondly of Dave.
28) Do you like sleeping on satin sheets?
I have in the past, though I don’t currently own any. Silk would be better, though much harder to maintain. Honestly, though….um…we’re hard on sheets. I don’t think it’d be the best idea.
29) Can you whistle?
I can, but not terribly well. I have the ability, though, so I could practice if I were motivated. Which, admittedly, I’m not.
30) Favorite color?
Purple. Followed by blue. I’m fond, sartorially, of blacks and greys, though they aren’t actually colours in the strict sense of the word.
31) Would you be a pirate?
Who says I’m not a pirate?
32) What songs do you sing in the shower?
Whatever pops into my head. Since I’m a singer anyway, its usually whatever song I’m currently in the process of writing and/or learning and/or listening repeatedly to. Or, sometimes, it’s just whatever i last heard in my voluminous mp3 shuffle.
33) Favorite girl’s name?
As in, to name a kid? Piper. Always said if I had a daughter, I would name her Piper.
34) Favorite boy’s name?
Grover. (C’mon, he was a president before he was a Muppet.)
35) What’s in your pocket?
I’m just happy to see you.
36) Last thing that made you laugh?
On the way into work, I was listening to Fresh Air with Terry Gross on my iPod, and she was interviewing John C. Reilly and Jake Kasdan about their movie, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. That movie had already been recommended to me by mrjaimie, and having heard the interview, I want to see it even more.
37) Best bed sheets as a child?
I know I had at least one set of Star Wars sheets. (The movie came out when I was seven. You can’t judge me.)
38) Worst injury you’ve ever had?
When my apartment building burned down in 1998, I had second degree burns over 80% of my back and shoulders. Still, it could have been much worse. (I think it’s telling how much I don’t think about that incident that my first reaction to this question was to tell the story about how I fell off my bike when I was 15 and landed on my chin.)
39) Do you love where you live?
I like where I live. I don’t love it. (For values of “where I live” that equal “the Atlanta area.” My apartment is brilliant, aside from the crazy shouty woman downstairs.)
40) How many TVs do you have in your house?
Just one. but there’s four computers. (well, six, but only four are actually functional and in use….3 if you discount the Macintosh, which has no function other to maintain a continuous slideshow of aesthetically pleasing images.
41) Who is your loudest friend?
What kind of question is that, even? Gosh, I dunno. Probably fleetfootmike, but only when he cranks his amp to 11.
42) How many dogs do you have?
Just one. But it’s a plushy.
43) Does someone have a crush on you?
Several people seem to. And I have crushes on several people. In many cases, it overlaps! Happy day!
44) What do you want on your gravestone?
“We got tired of waiting for him to die, so we set up this memorial. He’ll probably end up here before the stone erodes.”
45) What is your favorite book?
Good grief. How can you read so few books that you can still name *a* favourite? I couldn’t even find a place to begin with this.
46) What is your favorite candy?
Again, hard to say. Likely something with chocolate. Like a good truffle?
47) Favorite Sports Team?
I barely follow what’s going on with sports these days, but I will always have a fondness for the Boston Red Sox.
48) What song do you want played at your funeral?
“The Night Pat Murphy Died” by Great Big Sea. And you had best *dance*. Don’t make me get up.
49) What were you doing 12 AM last night?
Sleeping.
50) What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up?
Five minutes. Shadayim.

Yes, you can indeed smoke heroin, by cooking the white powder (or brown tar) over flame on tin foil and then inhaling the smoke through a makeshift paper or cardboard tube -- “chasing the dragon”, in parlance (the dragon being the curling smoke).
It avoids tracks and gets the heroin to the brain faster because of inhalation through the lungs, although mainlining is less wasteful. Smoking heroin is still the method of choice in this part of the world. IV administration is more common in the West.

Huh. Memes are educational. Thanks.

Heroin can be smoked. Not the usual method, but for some reason the kiddies today think that smoking it makes it less addictive.
Ha.
