Today’s challenge invites us to share a song that makes you want to fall in love. Love songs are, of course, about three quarters of the popular music canon, so one is hardly spoiled for choice. I’m choosing today to share this exquisite number from Bob Dylan’s 1997 album “Time Out Of Mind”. It’s been covered by many people, but I like the sparseness of the original. (I should really learn this one.) Here’s “To Make You Feel My Love”

Might be sappy, but I’ve always loved this song… and for trivia, written by Neil Diamond.

As the great English poet and philosopher Paul McCartney once said, “Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs. And what’s wrong with that, I’d like to know?”

Every time I hear this, I flash back to when I realized I was in love. In the feels, every time. https://youtu.be/cagVl2qdCnI

My first boyfriend in high school gave me a Bread album with this on it. He passed from a brain tumor about 15 years ago, but I still think of him when I hear it.

Same song as yours, Rob…but this version is the most achingly beautiful version I have ever heard

I remember those days — that feeling of intoxicated bliss that we call “love”. I’m not sure I can ever experience that feeling again. I think my heart has turned to stone. That said, it was a little difficult for me to come up with a song for today’s theme.

It doesn’t help that my ex-girlfriend and I were both obsessed with Joni. This was pretty much our song.

There are certain songs that are indelibly associated with specific people in my emotional landscape. It gives them extra shades of meaning and resonance when I hear them, for better or worse. (See my previous entry regarding “Beeswing”, which has not one but TWO very different personal associations, over and above the resonance of the song itself.)

This is the music that made me want to fall in love. And when I did, it was exactly like this. And it still is.

There’s another one. Featuring Jon Anderson and Tangerine Dream. Occasionally the words will show up after completing a level in Puzzled Hearts.

I was going to post this one yesterday but it took me this long to find a link! My favorite “falling in love” song. It always makes me smile. 🙂
