I remember that Steve Goodman song--WNEW-FM played it once or twice in the early 80s when I was about 15. They played *a lot* of good stuff, from folk to punk, and then about 1981 or 82 it all stopped and they were playing the same tired album-oriented rock that WPLJ was playing.

(that’s probably more than you wanted to know about New York area radio stations.)

And I never heard it again after that, and never found out who it was by or anything until the miracle of teh internets.
